Juniper and Citrus is the CVS Scent Winner!

During Spring 2010 Fashion week, CVS had an event at Robert Verdi’s awesome, Luxe Lab. One of the things Editors did, was vote for a new, Essence of Beauty scent.

The winner has finally been announced: Lemon Tea winning over Tangerine Clementine, by just one vote! The scent has been renamed Juniper & Citrus, and you should be able to find it now (or shortly) at your local CVS store. But it is so new, I can't even show you a photo just yet!

What I can share is what it smells like. The Juniper & Citrus scent is light and energizing, with key ingredients being juniper berries, citrus, and sweet tea leaves. The scent has a drydown that smells sightly smokey, like green tea, but the lemony citrus shines through, making this a feel good scent that you can afford slather on, any time. It’s an innocently sexy scent that will work well on all body types, especially in the heat of the Summer.
The Body Mist comes in a clear pump bottle, with a frosted label featuring a luscious citrus/juniper graphic. The spray is light and refreshing. It has aloe vera to help soothe and condition your skin. I think it's a great skin refresher in this hot, sticky weather.
The Body Lotion,in a flip top tube is 8 fl. oz. of very light lotion that won’t feel sticky on your skin, but it will moisturize with aloe vera and shea butter, and offersAntioxidants of Vitamins E & C.

In addition to the Juniper and Citrus, CVS is going to be debuting some of the other fragrances I got to smell during Spring Fashion Week: Wildflowers, Bergamot Sandalwood, and Romantic Bouquet. The best part is that none of these fragranced items will ruin your budget–they’re just $5.99 each.

Liz Earle Natural Products for Men--Happy Father's Day!

He might not tell you this, but I will: dad doesn't need another tie, shirt or gag gift for Father's Day. The singing bass is cute, but it's going to end up in the garage, or the closet. The photo of the family is a nice touch, but hardly, original. So what can you give dad this year that he is going to actually need and use?

I am advocating a gift of great skin care for men this year. Guys may not automatically be buying luxe products for themselves, but men are results oriented. Once they see and feel how much better their skin is, they will finally realize what women have known all along: there is no need to have dry, itchy, blotchy, aging skin!
A neat gift for a special guy is the Liz Earle Sensitive Shave Cream & Hot Cloth Kit $22.00 is a little "something" any guy can warm up to, literally. And, it makes a great gift. Housed in an attractive, brown, zippered, nylon bag is a 3.3 fl. oz tube of Liz Earle Sensitive Shave Cream and a "toweling cloth." The shave cream has skin-saving botanicals to give a close, but comfortable shave. Naturally active ingredients such as shave grass, clary sage, and eucalyptus are uplifting and helps soothe the skin. For the ultimate "time out," he simply soaks the the toweling cloth (essentially a wash cloth) in hot water and presses it onto his face and beard for 30 seconds. This is not just a calming action, but makes shaving easier. The shave cream is then applied to his warm, wet skin, and worked into a creamy lather with his fingers, or a shaving brush.

Be a sport, and also give him the Liz Earle Naturally Active After-Shaving Moisturiser $30.00 1.6 fl. oz. that he should use after he's finished washing and shaving. For starters, the herbal, lavendar scent is wonderful. The product is easily absorbed, and will make his skin feel soothed, too. The moisturizer is good for all skin types. Your special man has no idea how soft and smooth his skin can be (a bonus for you, too). This product features natural ingredients: the humectant (attracts water) glycerine; Lavandin (hybrid resulting from crossbreeding between lavender and Spike Lavender, for fragrance) and Panthenol (Pro-vitamin B5 -- intensive moisturiser and humectant which draws moisture from the atmosphere and holds it on the skins surface).

Lip Products from LUSH and Softlips Conquer Summer!

Dry lips de-glamorize even the most glorious lip color. You slick on that gorgeous gloss or creme color, and what do you see? Little bumps, cracks and bits of flaky skin, sticking to it! Ewwwww! Even the silkiest, most hydrating lip product can't mask dry, flaking lips.

In order to keep your lips in top shape, you need to regularly do two things: exfoliate them, and hydrate them. Two companies that have budget-friendly, effective and seriously fun to use products that lick the dry lip problem (pun, intended) are LUSH Cosmetics, and Softlips.

The first way to love your lips and make them look good, is to exfoliate them. You can do this with a chemical exfoliant or one with rough pieces of seeds or nut hulls, but sugar is a sweeter and kinder way to do it. You can use simple sugar, but it is messy, and not much fun. However, LUSH Lip Scrubs are my newest obsession. They use castor sugar to gently eliminate those nasty flakes and dry patches. The Lip Scrubs are packaged in 0.8 oz. glass jars with screw caps, and they come in unbelievable flavors. each and available in three different flavors. The main ingredients are castor sugar, flavor, and vanilla extract. The product is in a semi-solid state which could be a bit messy if you use too much. But here’s the thing: you need only to swipe your finger lightly over the surface pick up a tiny bit of the product, and rub it over your lips for a few seconds before licking off the residue. You need so little, and it’s so effective, there is no mess, and the jar will last a long time. Sugar provides the sweet taste and the exfoliating power (along with the additional, yummy fragrances and taste), and it’s a grainy, but not grating, exfoliating experience that you can simply lick off your lips instead of having to wipe it off. How about chocolate and peppermint? That’s the winning combo of Sweet Lips Lip Scrub, while vanilla extract helps you moisturize. The Mint Juleps Lip Scrub, smells like like mint-chocolate chip ice cream, without the calories and it features tingly peppermint oil, and also has vanilla extract to lock in moisture. My favorite of the three, because it leaves lips feeling tingly and refreshed, as well as soft and smooth. I also tried BubbleGum Lip Scrub, an homage to Lush’s Snow Fairy Fragrance. It’s pink, just like Double Bubble and smells just like Bazooka. It was a whole lot nicer to rub this fruity, pink scrub on my lips, than most anything else I have tried in a tube or jar. In fact, using a tiny bit of one of these sweet treats, mid-afternoon- might just help you avoid cravings in an afternoon slump AND slough off any dry skin that’s lingering on your lips. Yes, I’m in love! The only downside if you can call it that, is that only danger is that These are addictive!!!!! You could overdo the exfoliation. Stick to once a day. Next time someone says “give me some sugar, sweetie” you can just hand over your jar of lip scrub!

Now that you have lips that are smooth, you need to protect and hydrate them just as you would the skin on the rest of your body. They're out there, 24/7, doing their duty, so do yours back.

I have long been a fan of Softlips products They’re effective, easy to use, pleasant, and very, very affordable. They come in a variety of formulas and flavors, most of which are subtle and not too "sugary." All have SPF because even if the sun isn't shining, your lips are always exposed to the sun's rays, and to wind and other "drying" elements. All these products are also free of preservatives, phthlates, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and even, gluten. The Mentholatum Company, marketer of the USDA-certified organic Softlips Pure Lip Conditioning Balms, has expanded it’s line with new Softlips 100% Natural. The Pure 100% Natural Lip Butter $4.99 and Pure 100% Natural Lip Gloss $5.99 100% Natural Lip Tint $3.99 and Natural Lip Polish $5.99 give your lips SPF 15 (except for the exfoliator) protection with 6,5 % Zinc Oxide, and, depending upon the product, hydrating natural oils, including beeswax jojoba seed and other natural seed oils, coconut oil, and/or shea butter.

The 100% Natural Lip Gloss arrives in is packaged in a slim-ish squeeze tube with slant tip for easy application., and adds a sheer, moistly-matte. hint of a tint to your lips in three shades: light pink “Shell Pink;” “Coral charm” (deep rosed coral) and”Natural Honesty,” a soft beigey pink.

The Natural Lip Tint comes in the slim, swivel up tubes I love. You can fit it even into the teeniest bag or tightest pants pocket. Like the Lip gloss, this product has a silky, hydrating, protective coat for your lips, with the same three colors: Shell Pink, Coral Charm and Natural Honesty. This product also has coconut oil as one of the hydrators. In all honesty, the tints are nice, but for those who are used to really wearing lip color, these are really less color than usual. The tints are so subtle it really doesn’t matter which one you pick—and they are sheer enough to let younger girls enjoy the “beautifying” effect without turning them into hoochies. The color may not be seriously strong, but the point of all of these products is, first and foremost, to keep your lips well hydrated and protected from the sun.. The color tint is just an extra bonus.

One new product without any color, but with a glossy shine (and a fruity taste), is the 100% Natural Lip Butter, also packaged in a slim-ish squeeze tube with slant tip for easy application. The one I tried, Pure Vanilla Berry, smelled sweet and fruity, and moisturizes very dry lips with a shiny, glossy balm that feels silky and luxe, and does the job, very well.
Finally, lips need to be smooth to keep lip color looking nice, and also to avoid cracking and peeling. The Softlips Pure 100% Natural Lip Polish uses organic coconut flakes, and sugar, to exfoliate, while bees wax and natural seed oils like sunflower, cacao, mango and castor seed help to deeply moisturize. The .28 oz. product is semi-solid, but well milled, and come sin a little screw top jar. It is gentle, tastes sweet, and you may find yourself actually inventing excuses, to exfoliate! All of these products are affordable, too.

Softlips Products are available in mass market retailers nationwide, and you can also check them out ONLINE.

Lovely Lipsy London Spring Summer 2010 Collection

A few weeks ago, I was invited to check out the Spring/Summer Collection of Lipsy, a British fashion label with catwalk inspired designs, that has just launched in the United States, at select Bloomingdale's stores. The party girl oriented line already has a celebrity following with the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift. The collection I saw features pretty party (and some casual) wear with covet-able items ranging from about $80.00 to just a couple of hundred dollars.

Lipsy V-I-P is a special event line with higher prices. This gorgeous Beaded Pocket Bustier Dress is just $185.00 --still within the realm of reason for a special occasion dress.

Although most of what I saw I was clearly for juniors, if I'd been at a retail store, I just might have filled a shopping bag and emptied my bank account on Lipsy London items. There were plenty to choose from. For Spring/Summer 2010 Lipsy has "Pixie Festival" and "Pixie Party" collections. The first includes casual clothes of soft, vintage-style cotton, denim, and even some hoodies

with rock-style designs and crystal accents, that anyone could wear.
And, I loved the maxi dresses that would look cute on anyone from 16 to 60 (and above). Pixie Party features lots of embellished chiffon, crystals, animal prints, and so forth. This Leopard Print dress is $225.00 but others, equally cute, are just $110.00 The floral prints on many, are perfect for a garden party wedding!

There are also grand accessories, such as a metallic handbag with silvery chains and dangles, reminded me of Betsey Johnson. A heart-shaped minaudiere with red crystals, is show-stopping at just $70.00! Sort of Judith Leiber, without the high price tag.
Are you getting the idea that this is a modestly-priced collection for ladies who like to be looked at? Then you're on the right track! If Lipsy London is "the London look" I'm loving it!

Lipsy London dresses are most definitely for showing off at events, parties and clubs. I can just see Paris, or maybe Jessica Simpson in this floaty, bejeweled, plunge front halter. They're not for the shy and most are fairly body conscious. Cheerful prints, bold colors, and lots of jewels, crystals, metallic, beads, and sequins, add a lot of bling and sex appeal to these clothes. But there were plenty of body conscious dresses that would make a splash if you're a guest at an evening wedding this season, too.

The line, while not new in England, is launching cautiously in the U.S. and is not widely available. The Bloomingdales stores where the line is launching, are mostly in New Jersey (Bridgewater, and Bergen County) and in Los Angeles, and not in New York. But the good news is that you can order online at http://www.lipsy.co.uk/

The Infiniti by Conair You Curl

Is this photo of a new, Star Wars weapon, or something else?

It looks like it could be an alien weapon, with it's long, tapered wand. But, it's not. It is the Infiniti by Conair You Curl, the latest "weapon" against boring hair. This red barrelled wand is from gives you the shiny, soft, bouncy, sexy curls of your dreams!

This new curling tool isn't quite a curling iron, because it doesn't have the traditional clamp that holds the hair, but can also leave crimping marks in it. It reminds me of the old fashioned curling tongs women used to heat up in the hearth, and then apply to their hair. The Infiniti by Conair You Curl, however, has all the bells and whistles and safety features you'd expect of a modern tool.

In the old days, there wasn't any control over how hot a metal curling rod got, and often, it would not only burn the user, it would seriously damage her hair. In the novel, Little Women, the issue is graphically described as Jo tries to curl Meg's hair but instead, burns it into a frizzle. But the Infiniti by Conair You Curl is electronic, and has a digital readout that lets you choose five consistent temperature settings up to 400 degrees. An indicator light tells you exactly how hot the curling wand is, and it beeps when it reaches that temperature. There is also an automatic shutoff and the wand is tourmaline ceramic, to heat quickly and efficiently, with less damage to your hair. A safety tip keeps the top of the iron safe for your fingers.

The idea of this tool is that without the clamp, you can make tight to loose curls without any crimps. The idea is great and it works perfectly. However, the rod does get hot and you have to be careful not to touch it while you are wrapping your hair on it. It might take you a few tries to get used to where the ideal place is to wrap your hair, and how long to hold it there. The closer you get to the tapered top of the wand, and the longer you hold it there, the tighter the curl will be. It's not an exact science, however. The first time I tried to use the You Curl, I made a serious corkscrew, in seconds. I then tried the iron with a lower temperature, coiled my hair closer to the middle to end of the barrel, and held it less time. the result was the bouncy, pretty curls you're seeing all over red carpets on cute starlets, these days. Even better, the high-tech wand made those curls frizz=--free and super-shiny. You just have to practice a bit to get a feeling for what your hair, needs for each type of curl. The thicker the section of hair, the looser you wrap it, the cooler the temperature, and a small hold time, will make a loose wave, but you can take it all the way up to a tight corkscrew you couldn't ever accomplish with just one size barrel on a traditional curling iron! The You Curl is like a dozen curling tools, in one!

This is a short video that shows you how the Conair You Curl, works!

The Infiniti by Conair You Curl is available nationwide at mass market and drug store retailers, as well as at http://www.conairyoucurl.com/, for an average retail price of $49.99. You can also find out more great info by “liking” Conair’s new Facebook page at www.facebook.com/conairhair or following them at www.twitter.com/conair_hair

Vapour Certified Organics Make Summer, Green, Healthy and Beautiful

A vapor (American spelling) or vapour, according to Wikipedia, is: "a substance in the gas phase at a temperature lower than its critical temperature. This means that the vapor can be condensed to a liquid or a solid, by increasing its pressure, without reducing the temperature."

There's also a cosmetics and skincare company called Vapour that has 100% natural and chemical free products, with a minimum of 70% certified organic ingredients. I'm guessing the name was inspired by the fact that the Vapour products for the most part, are packaged in solid form, and in swivel up sticks that are easy to tote around.

Apart from being eco-friendly and "green," these cosmetics are noted for providing the look of natural, young, healthy, beautiful skin! The signature ingredient is a therapeutic treatment base of certified organic, light, dry plant oils that are non-comedogenic, and that provide deep moisture and anti-oxidant protection to the skin. Pure mineral pigments are infused in the base of the cosmetics, creating a breathable layer that moves and adjusts with the skin as opposed to lying flat on top. This movement allows for a delicate ‘play of light’ or shimmer that gives the skin a natural-looking radiance.

I was intrigued with this line, and was delighted to get some products to try.

For beauty on the go, there's nothing better than solid, stick products. They're creamy and blendable, won't be confiscated at the airport, and fit an active lifestyle. For example, the Aura Multi-Use Blush $28.00 is a solid, creamy blush that is housed in a blue, swivel up stick. It has enough shimmer to reflect light, but not so much that it looks gaudy or fake. The color can be used on eye, cheeks and lips, so it's truly multi-tasking. I tried "Charisma," a deep, blue-based pink shimmer that I'd normally avoid with my warm, freckled skin. But the color seemed to just melt into my natural complexion, leaving it rosier. But the color is sheer and so blendable, it looked fine on my skin and even better dotted and not blended out, on my lips This multi-tasking blush is made with 70% Certified Organic ingredients. The other 30% consists of natural mineral pigments and vitamins which are not available as certified organics.

I also tried the Siren Lipstick $19.00 in a deep, bronzed red called "Ravish." The color looked deep and bold in the slim, swivel up tube. I probably wouldn't have personally have selected it on my own. But when I applied it, I was really surprised at how great it was! The color is bold and somewhat intense, but magically it still appears natural looking. The product is a moisturizing lipstick with a blend of safe food grade ingredients. The lipstick feels moisturizing and luxurious, and it is also made with 70% Certified Organic ingredients. The other 30% consists of natural mineral pigments and vitamins which are not available as certified organics. The product really does moisturize well, and the rich color just seems to work with just about every skin tone...that's pretty amazing!

For Lip Gloss Lovers, Vapour has an excellent, Elixir Gloss $20.00, in a squeeze tube with a slant tip. The product inside has a fruity vibe, and comes in flattering colors such as "Sultry," a rich, coppery brown shimmer perfect for Summer. The gloss is moist, not super shiny (a nice look for warmer weather). The product combines castor oil and beeswax and natural mineral pigments, plus some more exotic ingredients such as Lemon Balm and Myrrh (to promote lip health), Green tea (anti-oxidant) and Iceland Moss (anti-microbial protection). The colors, like the lipsticks, are bold enough to be seen, but still somehow, they look universally flattering and natural. You can layer this product over a lipstick for more moisture and shine. I like it! If your lips are ultra dry and need additional TLC, use this one over the clear, Vapour Lux Lip Conditioner The Advice Sisters reviewed in the Holiday 2010 What Works Beauty, Cosmetics & Fashion review column!

I am one of those people who tries so many products both good for your skin, and not so good, that I can't really say that I am bound to get natural or green products when I'm buying them for myself. But, I'm beginning to come around and see the additional benefits these products offer. And I know lots of you care, too. Whether healthy, green and/or organic ingredients are important to you or not, you'll love the portability and performance (not to mention the great colors) of these products. If you want to check them out, the first place to to is the Vapour Web Site where you can see and purchase these amazing products.

Portable Scents You'll Love From Your Favorite Fragrances

Airline restrictions continue to tighten, and costs continue to rise when you want to check luggage. But this Summer, there's no need to leave your favorite fragrance, behind. Lighten your load, but not your wallet, with fragrance in small, unbreakable, portable, packages.
If you love the Baby Phat Dare Me, Faith Hill Parfums, Pure Orchid by Halle Berry, or Nautica My Voyage, you’re in luck! These lovely scents are now available, beautifully packaged, in 0.25 fl. oz. natural spray flacons. Each arrives in a durable but lightweight , unbreakable, damage-proof, metal spray bottle. They look stylish, and they're easy to carry in your purse or carry-on bag, without fear of spillage.
A new favorite, and one The Advice Sisters have recently reviewed. is Baby Phat Dare Me by the gorgeous, Kimora Lee Simons. The fragrance is categorized as a "luminous floriental," but I think it is much more a gourmand scent --when you smell it, it seems almost edible. The scent is lighthearted, but not overly sweet, fruity or unsophisticated. There's some complexity. The fragrance opens with coconut. It smells like the real thing, not a suntan lotion coconut. It blends into a heart of velvety blackberry crème and vanilla orchid with a warm drydown of crème de musk and sandalwood. At the end, the fragrance blends nicely and stays on your skin as a slightly fruity scent with a hint of woods. The Dare Me Eau de Toilette Portable Scent is clothed in matte hot pink with gold letting. Sexy and cool.

Pure Orchid By Halle Berry is bathed in purple brushed metal with deep purple lettering. The Advice Sisters review of Pure Orchid is also on this blog. The fragrance is officially categorized: "sensual floral woody." I smelled Vanilla immediately, although it isn’t listed in the notes. Masdevallia Orchid is the real star. As the scent dries down, as the alcohol dissipates, you start to sense all sorts of interesting and sensual aspects. This is a complex, feminine scent, but an empowering one. Spice and woods and creamy notes mix with the usual, ladylike ones. Although this celebrity fragrance is modestly priced, it not unsophisticated. Like an abstract painting, you see more and more in it as you spend time with it.

Nautica My Voyage, is new to me, but a favorite with fans. It is an aquatic floral, that arrives in a stunning, ice-blue bottle with a shiny, sea-blue top, and a thin line of raspberry accent around the spray diffuser. Summery accents of sparkling grapefruit and bergamot make the fragrance bright and cheerful, but there are romantic floral notes, too.

Faith Hill is a singer with a big fan base. Her fragrance, Faith Hill Parfums, is a very feminine floral with crisp pear, refreshing neroli, and lush pink peony. The mix also includes southern magnolia, exotic jasmine, and gardenia. The vibe is an intoxicating bouquet that feels like something Scarlett O’Hara would have loved. You can almost feel yourself relaxing, sipping sweet tea on a verandah at a beautiful plantation.

There is something for every fragrance “taste” in this quartet of portables, whether you like your fragrance crisp and clean, wild and exotic, or feminine or fruity. Another plus: you can actually pull out the glass spray flacon inside the metal container, unscrew it, and refill it. Here’s the kicker: these scents are just $9.99! WOW--that's a true bargain!!!!
Get them at mass market retailers.

Pevonia Botanica Safe Sun Kit and More, For Dad, For You, For Everyone!

Mother's Day was just a few weeks ago, and now that we've given our gratitude, love and thanks to Mom, it's time to think about what to give Dad, for his special day on June 20th. If you're looking for a unique, useful and very thoughtful gifts for a special man or for yourself, why not give the gift of healthy skin? One of my favorite spa brands, Pevonia Botanica, has luxe, pleasing, effective products to consider!

Pevonia products just make me feel a little bit more pampered, every day. I like their ergonomic bottles and tubes, and their luxurious, spa-style natural fragrances. The products are also free of a number of ingredients that you definitely don’t want on your skin, especially if it is sensitive: parabens, alcohol, lanolin, mineral oil, PABA, urea, artificial colors, formaldehyde or sodium laurel sulfate. The company also offers a dizzying array of skin and bodycare lines to target various skin types -- so there's a good skincare regimin for every person at every age. I'm a huge fan of travel sizes and sets, because they allow you to try products you might not ordinarily want to buy without trying, in a full size.

To be sure, there is nothing really “safe” about the sun, but the Skincare Solution Safe Sun Face & Body Kit $44.00 by Pevonia Botanica is a quartet of travel-sized products to keep skin healthy and protected from the sun's rays:

The quartet of products helps you exfoliate, hydrate, protect, and preserve your skin, with the high quality, spa-style, natural ingredients Pevonia Botanica is known for. Some of the key ingredients include: Hyaluronic Acid – Moisture bonding, hydrating , Chamomile – Calming, healing accumulation on face and body , Vitamin E – Nourishing, healing and Vitamin C – Repairing, anti-aging. The kit also comes nicely boxed in a cardboard shell so it's ready to wrap for a gift. I also like this as a unique shower/honeymoon gift for a newlywed couple, and for weekend host/hostesses.

...and while we're on the subject of great, pampering, gifts, one that will be a huge hit this Father's Day is the Aqua-Gel Foaming Cleanser $34.50 6.8 fl. oz, by Pevonia. The fresh, "green " scent just sends me, and guys love it too. And there's something else about this cleanser the men in your life will love -- it foams. Don’t ask me why foaming is synonymous with “clean” for most guys, but they somehow feel that if a product foams, it works. Key ingredients include Oat Amino Acids; Tea Tree Oil; Saponaria; Citric Acid and lavender. He’ll get the cleansing he wants with the moisturization he needs, all in one, pampering productThe elegant, slim, bronze colored plastic bottle with flip top lid looks elegant, while the liquidwithin naturally foams and cleanses, and it also, hydrates. You don’t need much, and just in case the water in his home is hard water, this cleanser also neutralizes the effect of hard water. He might not think to splurge on this for himself, but once he tries this cleanser, he will get hooked on it...so you'll know what to get him every holiday from now on!

PureOlogy Hydrate Light Condition--Pretty Fine!

Good hair care isn’t just a luxury, it’s a must, especially if you color or chemically treat your hair. You wear your hair 24/7 so it makes sense not only to protect this, your best, fashion accessory.
One of my favorite hair care brands is Pureology. It is, as their labels proclaim: “serious colour care.” The 100% vegan products feature organic botanicals and other more natural, good-for-your-body ingredients. The company doesn’t test on animals, and their products use organic botanicals such as peppermint, rosemary, sage, and green tea, and Pureology’s signature "AntiFade" complex. This is a blend of antioxidants and UVA/UVB full spectrum sunscreen, that helps keep your hair from fading. Pureology formulas are gentle, and yet, they'll make sure that you have hair that looks healthy, shiny and soft.
Now, Pureology has added two new products to their Hydrate Line: Hydrate LightCondition $27.00 8.5 fl. oz in a slim-necked, plastic bottle with lavender flip cap, and Hydrate HydraWhip $45.00 5.02 oz. in a jar with included, application “comb.” As you can gather from the name, both products are for people with very dry hair, but they are also of special benefit for those with fine hair. This is worthy of note, because moisturizing products tend to be heavy on the hair, making it limp. If your hair is also fine, limp hair can also make it appear thinner -- not a great look!
The new, Pureology Hydrate LightCondition and the HydraWhip Moisture Hair Souffle Conditioning treatments contain a “hydrating Micro-emulsion Technology” that delivers moisture from within (instead of just coating hair on the outside). Natural jojoba and shea butters with strengthening, multi-weight proteins of soy, oat, and wheat, are emollient and moisturizing. The Hydrate Hydra Whip has emollients including avocado, jojoba, and shea butters, are well There are other benefits as well, including a tingle free formula for those sensitive to menthol. , The conditioner, and the once-weekly treatment, takes only 2-3 minutes. You will see immediate benefits.
The downside, if there really is any, is that while these products are highly effective, they cost a bit more than drugstore brands. These two, new, Hydrate Light products are well worth it if you have thin or limp hair. However, if, like me, you have lots of hair, you will still like these “light” formulas. Why weigh your hair down with products, if you can get one that does a great job without it?
Pureology has lots of wonderful products that you can find in authorized salons. Visit the Pureology Web Site to check out other Pureology goodies, and to find an authorized salon near you.
