Caldrea's Lovely Scents Sensational for Gifts

Caldrea is a company that specializes in luxurious, fabulously scented, aromatherapy products, with an extensive line offering everything from candles to household cleaners, to hand lotions, to household gift sets. The earth-friendly products use plant-derived ingredients and natural essential oils. They're also biodegradeable and not tested on animals.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Caldrea introduced their modestly priced "Essential Collection" at Target stores. The dozens products in the initial collection (home ambience, and homekeeping) are similar in formula as their luxurious (and pricier) line, except they're in different packaging, with different scents: Home Ambience: Citron Ginver (grapefruit, ginger, and basil): Water Lily (jasmine and cedarleaf); Pomegranate (cassis, rose and palmarosa); White Birch (sandalwood, lemon, and parsley); and Cypress Leaf (cypress, sage and violet leaf) and HomeKeeping: Ollive Oil (corriander and cedarleaf); Herbs de Provence (rosemary, thyme and sage); and Citron Ginger (grapefruit, ginger and basil).

At the launch event, I also got a chance to smell a new fragrance in Caldrea's more upscale line called:"Sandalwood Riceflower." This is a great unisex scent -- a classic chypre, one of my favorite types of fragrance. I have noticed that in the past few years, even though guys are still claiming they’re not all that interested in skincare, they seem to get very excited every time I present a new, scented hand or body cream (guys: how is that not skincare?). Sandalwood Riceflower features a fresh, citrus accord with subtle floral notes and sophisticated woods and white moss. Just like a fine fragrance in a perfume bottle, Caldrea’s Sandalwood Riceflower has top notes: bergamot, riceflower and mandarin, Heart: lavender, rosebud, and cedarwood, and the drydown has sandalwood, patchouli and amber. The smell is spicy, with just the merest hint of herbal-lavender and a lot of sexy woods. The best part is that if you love it (and I really do) you can get it in a dizzying variety of products.
I personally tried the Hand Lotion $10.50 11 fl. Oz and $12.50 16 fl. Oz. The creamy lotion dispenses from a clear. Plastic pump bottle, and absorbs quickly with aloe vera, olive oil and shea butter to soften and soothe even the driest, most work-weary hands. The scent stays on your skin so you can enjoy it for a while longer. If you are thinking about gift giving, Moms and dads who cook, and of course brides to be and new graduates with their first apartments, will will like The Kitchen Sink Set $42.00. The trio is housed in a substantial stainless or black wire holder, with a 16 oz. Dish Soap, Liquid Hand Soap, and the yummy Hand Lotion.

If luxe, nicely scented items are something you'd love to splurge on, you still can enjoy Caldrea quality and scents, without breaking your budget to shreds with the Essentials Collection, sold at Target stores.

For example, there are some great home scent items from this new, Caldrea collection, I like this essential oil diffuser in Citron Ginger that comes nicely packaged in a clear, cello container with lime green cardboard holder, featuring a bunch of short, wooden rods that you insert into the bottle of essential oil, to diffuse scent in a room for weeks, without having the light a flame. The scent is fresh and cheerful, a blend of ginger and citrus with floral notes of rose and peony, and green notes of basil, too!

You can't go wrong with a beautifully scented, beautifully packaged candle, and of course, candles are romantic. The Caldrea Essentials Collection has a full sized (10.5 0z) Signature Candle (we like White Birch) with top notes of lemon, lime and parsley, with the woodsy aroma of birch bark, and a hint of sandalwood and musk for a sensual balance. The candle comes in a large, clear, glass votive that is decorate with an all over striped design of (what else?) white birch trees and leaves.

And if you travel or like a lot of little votives, you can't go wrong with the Caldrea Votive Candle Set (this one is scented with " Water Lilly"). These also have essential oils, featuring jasmine and cedarleaf. You get five mini tins each holding 2 oz candles and each tin is nicely decorated with a pretty label of light green and blue featuring delicate, floral designs. Each votive will burn for about 10 hours. These make a perfect accessory for a Summer table, and I think they would be a pretty addition as place card holders/party gifts, for a bridal shower, too.

Can't wait to try these? I agree! Visit your favorite Target store for the Caldrea Essentials Collection, or www.caldrea.com for all of the Caldrea, signature items.
