Redken Raises the Bar for Best Hair Sprays - Two New Ones Launch This Month
A: Anyone who wants her/his style to last longer than a fond moment!
I can't remember the exact statistic, but REDKEN used enough cans of hair spray backstage at the various Fashion Weeks to lacquer a major army of models. Redken products are beloved by stylists, and for at-home, because they are innovative, easy to use, and effective.
Two of the most popular Redken Hair Spray products backstage are always Redken's Forceful 23 super strength finishing spray, and Quick Dry 18 ($14.50 11 oz.) instant finishing spray. This past season, however, two new stellar hair sprays were tested: Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray, and Pure Force 16 non-aerosol fixing spray. Both have just launched! The stylist's "go-to" hair spray, Redken's Forceful 23, has been tweaked so it's "new & improved" as well.
I got a chance to try these super-good sprays before they launched, and now the secret is out!
If you're not really the hairspray type because you don't like the way the traditional hair sprays look and feel, you'll love Pure Force 16 $15.50 for 6.7 oz. This lightweight spray gives you 24-hour humidity resistance with up to 8 hours of control, but the key thing about this product is that once your style is as you like it, a spritz of this product will lock in the style, super fast. The fine mist actually adds shine as well, so you get your style secured, and that's that! You can use just a little, or you can layer the spray for more control. It's one of the products that helped to create the lacquered, rolled Chignon Guido created at the Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2011, runway show. So versatile!
Fashion Work 12 $16.50 for 11 oz. is a fast drying product that lets you shape and finish your hair (that's why Redken calls it a "working" spray), while providing a medium-strength (up to 8 hour) hold . I think it's a perfect choice for anyone who likes to tweak their hair style and maybe "beachify" or rough it up a bit, without letting the entire vision fall apart. This new product also helps you lift your roots for texture and volume and it's good for all hair lengths and types. The product helps deal a blow against humidity for up to 24 hours (although on really frizzy hair you need additional products to keep the frizz fighting, alive). I like the fact that it has what Redken calls a "Spray-Strong Complex" that does good things for your hair, like provide antioxidants (derived from Vitamin E) to protect hair against environmental saboteurs, while helping to reduce color face.
